Something special is happening at Bells Beach right now. Miguel Pupo — one of the most underrated surfers on Tour — is sitting at #1 in the live 2026 CT rankings with 6,085 points, ahead of the entire field. And right behind him at #2? His brother Samuel Pupo. Two Pupo brothers in the top two at the season opener. That's not a drill.

Brazil is absolutely on fire: Pupo, Pupo, and Medina all in the top 4. If you needed any more proof that Brazilian surfing right now is operating at a different level — here it is, live, at Bells.

The event is still on standby — more heats to come, and the leaderboard could shift before it's all said and done. But right now, it's Brazil's world. Everyone else is just surfing in it. Stay tuned.

Miguel Pupo Leads — Brazil Takes Over

The 2026 Championship Tour is underway at Bells Beach and Miguel Pupo is setting the pace. With 6,085 points, he leads the live CT rankings ahead of his brother Samuel Pupo at #2. Three Brazilians are currently in the top 4 — Pupo, Pupo, and Medina. The event is on standby after Round 3, with more heats still to run. The final result is still wide open.
